Craving for Ja-jang Myun @ Yong Sheung Kwan

One fine Sunday afternoon, while i was just about to complete my post about Everland. I was suddenly craving for Ja-jang Myun (black beans noodles)

So we set of to Korea, er... I mean Korean village, or at least how it is called by Malaysians. We arrived after about 30mins from home. We parked our car in from of the most modern restaurant,

Hanwoori

So we started our journey in search for Ja-jang Myun, not on the list, next,

You can have the latest or at least authentic Korean hairstyles here

Even Korean schools

Korean imported seafood??

IMG_4332

The only restaurant that we found the dish we wanted on the menu

IMG_4335

So up we went, it is actually a Korean-Chinese restaurant, looks more Chinese than Korean to me

When we sat down, the waiter brought us the menu

And a bottle of cold water

Chinese designed

And noodles

We places our order and the waiter brought us side dishes

Pickled Zaccuhini

Raddish

And a bowl of hot egg soup, looks could be deceiving but it actually tastes quite good

After about 5mins, the main dishes arrived

Bok-um-bab(fried rice) in Ja-jang sauce, if you noticed in the menu, plain rice with Ja-jang sauce cost more. Even plain rice in Korea costs RM5-6 for each bowl

Then the treasure of the day

Ja-Jang Myun

Our meal

My mouth was already watering, so, mix it evenly and in it goes.

To be honest, the noodles don't taste quite like the one I missed in the Korea airport. The noodles in Korea airport tasted like pasta and it breaks when u bite on them. The noodles here is more like the noodles you get when u order asam laksa, it's more chewy. The sauce had the ja-jang taste but not quite enough for me.

On the other hand, the fried rice taste much better. The fried rice is full of flavuor and the ja-jang taste had more taste. So we added the sauce into the Ja-jang myun and it tasted much better. The bill came up to RM32 which is quite costly compared to normal chinese food, but they are 'imported' so there is nothing to complain about.

Taken in the main area when we were leaving
